A Snapshot

Dr David Cullen enjoyed en extensive and varied career as an educational leader, both within and across public schools in Australia serving as a teacher, head teacher, primary and secondary principal, educational consultant, regional and state director. He held a conjoint appointment with the University of Newcastle and is a Past President and Fellow of the Australian Council for Educational Leaders (NSW), and in 2015, Dr Cullen was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to study in Ireland, Scotland, and the United States. ​

Dr Cullen has had a long-standing passion for Irish family history research and in 2022 he retired from education to focus his energies on connecting families with their Irish heritage. After conducting a handful of Irish family research studies Dr Cullen formed Emerald Histories in 2026. He is a member of the Society of Australian Genealogists.
